Can the DuckDuckGo search engine beat Google?
Google is the undisputed king when it comes to information search engines. But the reality is, more and more web savvy people "quietly" turn their backs to the search engine giant because of privacy issues. One of the current alternative search engines is DuckDuckGo.
Not tracking user data helps DuckDuckGo to win Google in the future
DuckDuckGo, a tiny but fierce competitor of Google, calls itself a search engine that does not store or share user data - an anonymous search engine.
Communications director Daniel Davis told Standard: We want users to easily protect their information like pulling insulated curtains from the outside world.
DuckDuckGo was founded by Gabriel Weinberg in 2008
DuckDuckGo CEO Gabriel Weinberg developed a draft law called the Do Not Not Act - "The Do-Not-Track Act of 2019" in 2019. Weinberg first came up with this idea as 2009.
According to the Do Not Track standard, users who do not want to be tracked by online advertising should clarify and the website should respect the user's choice. According to digitalinformationworld, everything collapsed in 2012 due to a number of reasons, mainly because Internet Explorer violated the agreement, causing ad networks and websites to start ignoring user choices.
The development of the anonymous search engine DuckDuckGo
In 2019, DuckDuckGo has achieved one billion monthly searches for the first time since its inception in 2008. According to Standard, DuckDuckGo's rival is Google, which has more than five billion daily searches. However, the media director of DuckDuckGo believes that there will be a trend towards privacy in the future and will choose DuckDuckGo.

DuckDuckGo is increasingly driven by events such as the revelations of former US spy agency contractor Edward Snowden or the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
In fact today users find "tired" because the ad stalking them, affecting personal privacy.
Communications director Daniel Davis explained DuckDuckGo will be a privacy-oriented search engine, different from Google.
With DuckDuckGo, we do not track who you are, so every time a user visits, it will actually be a new user. DuckDuckGo does not store search history or user profiles for research or advertising.
DuckDuckGo doesn't even hold a user's IP address, no detailed statistics on how many users, but only how many searches they receive.
In fact, Google continues to dominate the share of visits, especially on mobile devices. However, according to the digital marketing report Merkle Q1.2019, DuckDuckGo demonstrated the strongest growth at the end and in the first quarter of 2019, the number of visits increased by 54% overall and 78% above mobile device.
According to Gabriel Weinberg, CEO & Founder of DuckDuckGo.com, this growth proves to show increasing user awareness of privacy issues.
